I had read about the Oil Cleansing Method before and thought it would be a good idea to give it a try since it's a more natural approach. However my skin didn't like it and reacted badly which you can read about here. It's at this point I should have realized I have sensitive skin.
I bought the Mia on Cyber Monday and received it about a week later. It came with its own cleanser which I didn't use but instead I started using African Black Soap. It contains palm ash, plantain peel extract, tamarind extract and papaya enzymes. African Black Soap has traditionally been used to treat eczema, acne, oily skin, psoriasis, and other skin ailments. I was hoping that it would help my scars fade and I've definitely seen an improvement. In fact one that I had on my cheek is completely gone now and I've also been using it to fade acne scars on my chest.

I was still noticing irriation around my cheek area for awhile because I was using makeup removing sheets by Neutrogena each night to take off my makeup. Once I stopped using them I've had no problems. I use the Clarisonic once a day at night. I don't wear foundation or concealer so it only removes blush and eye brow pencil in terms of makeup I wear. In the morning I wipe my face with a clean face towel and water.
Though the Clarisonic is a bit pricey I would definitely recommend it. Like I said I don't wear makeup so I want to make sure my skin looks its best naturally and this has definitely helped me achieve that! My skin is more balanced and though I still have issues with oil I just make sure I have oil absorbing sheets handy to deal with it. I use Cetaphil as a moisturizer which is light and absorbs a lot better with the Clarisonic.
I only charge the Mia about once a week. It only has one speed as opposed to the Mia 2 and it doesn't beep to let you know when to move to a new part of your face. I haven't really had problems with this and just try and move it evenly around my face for the minute that it stays on. After I use it I pat dry my face with a clean face towel and then apply my moisturizer.
What's your skin care routine? Thanks for reading!
